I'm Porter Bliquez, a drummer in Los Angeles. I grew up in San Francisco, which is where the 415 in the name comes from, and I moved down for the University of Southern California. I left school to play full time, and I've been here since.

What I do

Most of my week is other people's music. I play drums for the hardcore band Trash Talk and for guitarist Jack Gardiner, and I take session and touring work for other artists. My own records come out under my name. They're jazz, mostly, with the drums up front: enadia, kodiak, anomie, beau, crypt, klobuhh, vacant and sheck so far, on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and SoundCloud.

I teach drums one on one over video, and I sell lesson packs that are less about licks and more about how to think behind the kit. Details are on the lessons page. There are live drum sample packs here too, real takes with the mic stems, and small runs of clothing.

415 Studios is the app I built because my own phone videos sounded nothing like the room. It mixes and masters the audio of an iPhone video, on the video, with no account. Free to download; the Pro tools are paid.
