Which tool for which job

415 Studios is the right answer to a narrow question. Here is the question, and here is who to use instead when it is not yours.

The question 415 Studios answers

You already filmed a performance on a phone. The playing is good. The sound is not. You want to mix that sound properly and post the video, without exporting audio to another app and re-attaching it afterwards.

Use something else if

You want to edit the video itself

Cutting, captions, transitions, text, speed. CapCut, VN, Splice and iMovie all do this well and are free. 415 Studios does not edit pictures. Most people mix in one and cut in the other.

You want stems as separate files

If the goal is drums, bass and vocals as files to take into a DAW, a dedicated separator like Moises or LALAL.AI is built for exactly that and does it at a scale 415 Studios does not try to match. 415 Studios separates parts in order to put them back into your video, not to hand you files.

You are mixing a song, not a video

Use a DAW. GarageBand is free, Logic and Ableton are deeper, and none of them are competing for this job. A phone app applying a chain to one stereo track is not a substitute for a session with real tracks.

You are fixing speech

Podcasts, interviews, voiceover, dialogue in a film. Adobe Podcast Enhance, Auphonic and Descript are trained on voices and will beat a music tool at it. 415 Studios is tuned for instruments.

You need to sync a separate recording to the video

Filmed on a phone, recorded on an interface, two files to line up. Every desktop editor does this automatically from the audio: Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve. 415 Studios works on the audio already in the video and does not do the syncing.

You are on Android

There is no Android app. The browser version runs on Android and on any desktop, and mixing in it is free.

You want the fix to be one button and nothing else

Several small apps do one-tap noise removal and volume boosting on video and do it with less to learn. 415 Studios has a one-tap mode too, but the reason it exists is what is underneath it. If you never want to open the rack, the simpler apps are a fair choice.

Where it is genuinely the better answer

Three things, together, in one place on a phone: a real modular chain rather than a volume slider, applied to the video's own audio so it never has to be re-synced, and tuned for instruments rather than voices. Any one of those exists elsewhere. The combination is the reason to use it.

One more that is specific: applying an effect to one section of the video rather than all of it, with a smooth release back to the base mix.

Honest limits

It is a young app by one person. It has a small number of App Store ratings, not thousands. It does not edit video, sync separate recordings, or record takes against a backing track. It has no Android app. And nothing in it recovers audio that clipped while it was being recorded.
